Its been a really long time since published something. I got really busy with my project UnmaskYourSmile - India’s First Fully Transparent Mask. Did quite a work there, I’ll brag a bit & say I’m at least a bit proud of myself, even though we didn’t achieve all that we set out to achieve. The learnings in the last 1 year have been so immense after Tezi.app - v1 & UnmaskYourSmile. I have been a avid reader for quite some years now & have been trying to learn from every bit there’s there in this world. I’m more than convinced with the Idea that you can actually learn something only by doing. By reading you can’t really get all the nuance. Probably there are people who can really do that, not me. At least not yet.

Motto of My life

Build ♻️ Learn

Wondering what all of the above has to do with the title? We are coming to it. You know how everything you build is ultimately an experiment & there is one thing experiments don’t fail to deliver, lessons. I have come across quite a few people who have taken the wrong lessons from their experiments. Right now the questions that I am trying to find an answer are to are

  1. How do you make sure that the results you are arriving at from your experiments are right?

  2. How do you decide on the right purpose for your life?

  3. How do you select the instruments to achieve this purpose?

I had the luck to visit Sabarmati Ashram, Ahmedabad this week & I was pondering over this questions and Mahatma Gandhi’s possible approach to these. Before we start I just want to start with this video from movie ‘Rang De Basanti’

ज़िंदगी जीने के दो ही तरीक़े होते हैं,

एक - जो हो रहा है होने दो, सहते रहो,

दूसरा - जीमेदारी उठाओ उसे बदलने कि!

Basically either be a follower (by choice or compulsion) or be a leader.

Here Gandhiji talks about the unwavering support of Kasturba his wife. I also learnt about ‘Maganlal Gandhi’, who was a cousin of Gandhiji. Gandhiji felt widowed on his death. Gandhiji never promised these people luxurious life or any thing materialistic, if anything following him in all probability meant a life full of trials & tribulations. In such conditions how do you make such unwavering followers? The greatest of the leaders followed him. What is that makes you worthy of such following?

My other question is of course that how did Gandhiji arrive at the purpose of his life? How did he stay steadfast in that quest against all the pain he went through in life?

Also what really intrigues me is that how did he arrive at the tools of his movement? Charkha & Non-violence. One thing that definitely worked in his favour is that he documented most of his life extensively & he wrote a lot of letters to a lot of people.

To find answers to these questions, I am reading his Auto-biography. Hopefully it is able to help me with answers in this quest.

Do write back to me with your thoughts about this.

Keep Smiling :)

Krishna.
